Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1954 Chevrolet CORVETTE recalls can be found in this database. Additional Description: Lone Star Muscle Cars has for sale this beautiful treasure of American automotive history-- a 1954 "Corvette Dream Car". Harley J. Earl a guru at GM envisioned an American sports car that could compete with the import sports cars of the day. Not long after convincing GM executives that they needed to build an inexpensive sports car the "Corvette Dream Car" debuted at the New York City Motorama in January 1953. The two-seat roadster was an immediate hit. In the crowd was a Russian-born engineer named Zora Arkus-Duntov. The car inspired him to write a letter to Ed Cole chief engineer of the Chevrolet Division at GM. A year later Arkus-Duntov was working at GM and as the saying goes the rest is Corvette production moved to St. Louis Missouri where it would stay for another 27 years. The new assembly plant was able to turn out 50 Corvettes a day. The output of the Blue Flame Six was 155 HP and the Powerglide automatic transmission remained the only transmission available. Base price was $2774 and total of 3640 Corvettes were produced in 1954. The Corvette soon became successful and so was born the American sports car! This car is a Survivor. We pulled her out of storage and she is original the way she came from the factory. Here is your chance to own one of the best investments ever built!!
