Additional Description: Looking at the photos and the price, you've already deduced that this is one special 1965 Ford Mustang fastback. And indeed it is, having been professionally built to exacting standards and featured in the pages of "Ford Builder" magazine. This is resto-mod done right. There's a little bit of GT, a little bit of Shelby, and a lot of attitude built into this gorgeous Mustang fastback. The body is straighter than most other early Mustangs we've ever seen, and there are obviously hours upon hours tied up in getting it to look this good. Check out the straight crease running back to the C-scoop on the quarters, the sharp peak of the fenders, and the miles-deep finish that only comes from tedious hand labor. The hood is a fiberglass piece that looks a lot like the GT350 pieces Shelby was using, but the scoop is a little flatter, a little wider, giving this Mustang its own personality. The two-stage urethane paint is drop-dead gorgeous and show quality in every way, and the way it glows in the sunlight will make people stop and stare everywhere you go. A vented front valence is like a Shelby GT350R but with the chrome bumpers in place, it takes on a whole new look that's functional as well as aggressive. Proper badges and emblems, a GT light bar, and exhaust pipes poking through the rear valence are all part of the GT look. At first glance, you'd think those were aftermarket seats, but no, they're the original frames that have been thoroughly re-worked with headrests and some additional bolstering to help hold you in place. Custom two-tone upholstery replicates the original Pony patterns exactly and a custom fabricated center console seems right at home. The instrument panel is now filled with Auto Meter Phantom dials, all framed by a new custom steering wheel. The shifter shows five forward gears instead of the usual four, and it's perfectly positioned to rip through the gears at full throttle. The back seat is fully upholstered to match and still folds down to make a huge cargo area with custom built-in speakers for the AM/FM/CD stereo head unit. Mechanically, it's still got Mustang roots with a 347 cubic inch stroker motor built from a 1988 5.0 roller block. Built by noted engine guru Mark Jones, it features fully reworked Edelbrock aluminum heads with a matching intake manifold, a 750 Holley 4-barrel carb, a custom Isky camshaft, and an MSD ignition system to light the fires. All told, it makes about 500 horsepower and moves the lightweight pony with frightening authority. It's also detailed with satin black panels, lots of polished aluminum, and red details to really set it off. The G-Force 5-speed manual spins a 9-inch rear with 3.73 gears with Trac-Lok and Moser 31-spline axles. A custom stainless exhaust system uses an X-pipe to create that LeMans soundtrack and subframe connectors reinforce the Mustang's unibody in a way that you can really feel. 4-wheel disc brakes are probably a good idea when you have 500 horsepower on tap and the entire undercarriage was covered in spray-on bedliner for a clean look that'll last practically forever. Custom Boyd Coddington wheels were made expressly for this car and wear 235/45/17 BFGoodrich G-Force T/A radials all around. One of the most impressive resto-mods we've ever seen, this is the pinnacle of early Mustang performance and comfort. Nothing radical, just a winning combination executed to show standards. Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1965 Ford MUSTANG recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. The problems are organized into groups with data published by vehicle, component, and specific issue. See also an updated list of 1965 Ford MUSTANG problems before buying a used car. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.
