Additional Description: This 1955 Mercury Monterey is an unmolested survivor. This rust free car took 3 years to find. This 3 year quest for a son to surprise his parents with the car they dated in back in 1957-8 has been fulfilled and its time for it to move on. The car was found in the same garage the original owner last parked it in back in 1988 which was the last time it was on the road in Oregon. The car was trucked to Massachusetts were the current owner awoke the car from its long hibernation. The following work was done, All fluids drained and replaced, All belts changed, Brake system upgraded to power front disc brakes, (all old parts go with the car)Carb rebuilt, all bulbs changed, all sending units replaced (engine temp shows hot but is not) oil pan dropped and thoroughly cleaned with the replacement of the oil pump. This car is truly 100% rust free. The interior is like new but 100% original. The powertrain is the factory V8 292 dual exhaust automatic which runs fine for a 65 year old motor. The car cruises straight with no issues at 70MPH.
